Relax, it's a big distribution.  They'll make it there eventually.

Did you read the RELEASE? I quote
"- A single unified boot disk (again)"

No need for a 1.3 and a 1.5.

They no longer exist. On tsx-11 there is a new a1 disk wich you rawrite to
either to a 3 or 5 inch floppy. On sunsite this new a1 file is not yet here,
there is still the a1.test from the test distribution.

Don't worry. I noticed SLS 1.02's install (a1) disk was actually
linux 0.99pl8 when SLS 1.02 is 0.99pl9. I D/Led the whole shebang
last night and installed it using my old install disk. I afterwards
did a make config, make dep, make clean, and make zImage, and no
problems at all. :)

Is it just me, or does this one boot a _lot_ faster??

Please disregard my last post on this thread, as the boot disk (a1)
for SLS 1.03 is now (1 day later) on tsx-11.mit.edu.  :)
(but my method _did_ work)  :)

1. SLS 1.03 a1.3 boot disk error

I have a 386 running on the SLS 1.02 linux distribution.  The machine
has 8 Megs of memory.

when I try to boot the system from the 3.5' inch disk (a1.3) it purrs
along through monitor setup and hardware recognition.  Then the
RamDisk is loaded with 1400 (or something) blocks.

Problem is -- this procedure aways aborts with the message:

Ramdisk:  I/O error on block 1200, aborting.

what on earth is going on here?

Thank y'all.
