Ok... I've played a bit with gas-1.38.1l, binutils-1.9l, and tools-2.7
and hacked them (I think the things I've done are relatively clean) to
work on our SGI systems (big-endian). If anybody wants the patches just
e-mail me. One caveat: The utilities seem to produce correct output
(I've used a gcc cross-compiler to compile/assemble/link some small
programs using shared and static libraries) but I can't test the output
on a real Linux box since I still don't have one......
