Fixkbd doesn't work ???

I 've installed SLS v1.0 and because I'm French user, wanted to patch the keyboard, but fixkbd
does nothing when I type : fixkbd /Image -> it doesn't find the original keyboard
                           fixknd -pKBD_FR /Image -> does nothing....

                                        HELP ME !!!!

Same with me (german keyboard --no go--). Had to recompile the kernel.
Apparently the keyboard layout (or the internal representation
thereof) must have changed.

    Linus? --when you're back-- Dou you know about this?

I think you cant change Keyboard because of the fact that the Image is
onlinedecompressing it self.
So there isnt a chance to change Keyboard with fixkbd and you have to
recompile the kernel.

1. Re. bffcreate -X doesn't work Re: bffcreate -X Doesn't Work

bffcreate first restores all images from the tape to /tmp (default)
and than does a 'restore -p' to pack them in big files and place these
files in /usr/sys/inst.images. It's much more easier to use 'dd' to
copy the files directly from the tape to disk. The only thing you have
to take care about it the naming. If all images are copied run 'inutoc'
on the directory were you placed your files this will create the
table of contents files '.toc'.
