hello everyone,
i'm running redhat 7.0 with kernel 2.4.2-2 and i tried to install my linmodem drivers for a mr2800w aztech modem.
but when i tried to rebuild the rpm. it crashed and there was a message like:" install the kernel source rpm, on disc2"
the problem is , i've a single disc version so i don't have a second disc.

can anyone PLEAZ  send my this rpm

that's the problem with micros~1 tools - they operate only as
the developers think it's supposed to be done without regard
for the standards - although the incorrect behaviour can be
fixed, micros~1 ships the "default" configuration for it's tools
with micros~1 blinders on and without regard for the REAL world.

and hence, most users are completely unknowing to USENET standards
and think, "well, OE operates like this, so it must be right"

1. "i686-whatever-linux2" rpm or i386 rpm

I wanted to enable proxy server caching on my
slow 56K modem line to grab some of the web
pages from cache.
So I went to:
http://www.apache.org/dist/binaries/linux/
and saw i686 rpm's.
Does i686 refer to the Cyrix 686 that is in my
current computer?
Would the "i686-whatever-linux2" rpm be the
correct on to run on my col2.3 system?
What does the linux2 refer to as opposed to an
rpm with linux instead of linux2?
