Ali,
I don't know who you've been talking to here, but I have the
info that you should need and will put it on our tech support BBS.
Look for CLOCKIO.ZIP by the time you get this message.

Well, that's support. Please, all other vendors should look at this and think
about it some minutes.

Has anyone else found this file on the STB BBS?  As of April 21, 1993 it had
not been posted.

It is up now, and that is the name of the file.  It is under the VL-24
file area.  I haven't downloaded it yet though.

I ported the 'setclk' and 'gencode' programs in this archive from DOS to
Linux last week and posted them on sunsite.unc.edu under /pub/Linux/incoming.

Look for the file 'stbvl24.tar.Z'

The 'setclk' program sets the specified clock number to the specfied freq.
For example

        setclk 2 75.0

sets the 3rd dot clock to 75 MHz.  Since XS3 does not attempt to initialize
the dot clock synth on this video card, you should put a 'setclk' command in
your rc.local file to initialize it every time you reboot.

I posted a notice on comp.windows.x.i386unix but I guess I should have cross
posted to c.o.l and c.o.l.a as well.  PLEASE use one of the spreadsheets to
calculate the correct modedb lines for YOUR monitor.

1. STB PowerGraph VL-24

I have recently received a PowerGraph VL-24 graphics card from a
friend...not the newest card available but it replaced my aging Trident
card.  Everything works fine with it (to date) except X Windows.  My
question is --- is it supported? I know the PowerGraph X-24 is...I just
don't seem to be able to get X to start up with this card, any help is
appreciated.  Thanks.
