Remote X appl died in TERM ??

Post by Dave CHE » Fri, 11 Jun 1993 09:19:00

I got some problems of running remoted Applications with TERM.

Whenever I move the local Term Windows, all the running remote X appl. willdied and said broken pipe of those applications.

Whenever I open one more TERM with trsh.. same problem happen.

It runs find if I just has 1 window and don't drag and drop or move it
around..

Any idea? It's connected with a 9600 modem. File Transfers etc are fine.

And I do set the baudrate as 9600 at both ends.

    Thanks in advance!

Let me guess, you didn't use the -r option.

Use the -r option on *either* the local or the remote side

Colin...

1. Term dying when remote sessions closed.

This is the 2nd time i've posted this request for help, and I think i've
got more information about the problem now.. not a whole lot more, but
some.

Every now and then a remote user telnets into my system and their session
hangs.   when this session gets killed by them closing the telnet
connection or if i kill -9 it, then term on my system dies.  What's the
deal with this?  I *really* need this fixed.

talk seems to be one of the programs that initiates such behavior, but it's
also happened at other times when someone's just poking about in the shell.

I'm sorry I don't have any more specific information, but it seems to be a
really vague problem.

oh, this is term 1.11, btw.  1.12 refused to compile on my SunOS box, so I
haven't upgraded yet.
