Where is libipc

Where is libipc

I am attempting to compile dosemu0.49.  I am apparently missing libipc.a.
I haven't been able to locate it anywhere on tsx-11 or sunsite.  Anyone
know where I can get a copy?

I've said it before, I'll say it again, it says it in "READ THIS BEFORE
POSTING" and it says it in the FAQ. Look on the FTP sites _before_ you
ask "where can I get xxx?" and use a little common sense.

A quick look (<10seconds) at the ls-lR file reveals the newest files on tsx-11
with ipc in their names are:

tsx-11.mit.edu:pub/linux/packages/SLS/b7/ipcdelta.tgz
tsx-11.mit.edu:pub/linux/patches/ipcdelta.tar.z

Where is libipc

There is a ipcdelta.tgz everywhere. Unpack it. In the test directory
there is a Makefile for libipc.a.

But if you wait a little H.J.Lu will release the new libc.4.4.1,
and together with the new kernel you won't need libipc nor the ipcdelta
patches any more.

Where is libipc

This probably should be in the faq but here it goes:

In order to get libipc do the following:

1. get a copy of the old libipc patches. (ipcdelta if I remember correctly (yes I
know that you are probably using linux 0.99pl10 which has sysVipc
        already built in)).
2. untar the puppy.
3. look in a directory called test.
4. change all references of "ifdef linux" or some such thing to __LINUX__ if I
remember correctly as I am not anywhere near my machine at home.
5. type make libipc
6. cp libipc.a /usr/lib
7. enjoy.  treat yourself to a pint of stout.

hope that this is of help.

1. Problem compiling libipc

This refers to 0.99.12, the SLS distribution on tsx-11.

The code in /usr/src/ipc/test suffers from the following simple
problem: some of the constants it requires are present in the header
<linux/ipc.h> (which <sys/ipc.h> includes), but only with the token
__KERNEL__ defined.  Unfortunately, the source in that directory uses
the name KERNEL instead, which is of course insufficient and hence
unsuitable.
