help the college student! recvfrom(6) question

Post by dave michael kenned » Tue, 06 Mar 2001 18:57:56

first of all, am i posting this ? to the right of board?

second..i am writing my first linux connectionless socket daemons.  I'm
using recvfrom(6), and i dont want ANYTHING after the recvfrom to run
until I've actually received something.  I was under the understanding
that this did this anyway; but the program keeps moving anyway.

perhaps im trying to use a socket number thats being used, and something
actually is hitting the recvfrom? How do i determine active sockets?

help is much appreciated
