To all!

I have an HP7200 RW ide cd drive and am able to read data, write data,
not sure about writing audio
though it went through motions..

The problem i am having is related to reading audio. When it reads the
audio, it gets all NULLS for the entire length of the track and so the
cdr file is nothing but NULLS.

My setup is as follows..

I am using kernel 2.0.35 patched or verified as having the proper
patches. The only thing needed was to chaing the WAIT_CMD ... the
changes to ide-scsi.c are incorporated in the 2.0.35 version.

I have 4 ide drives, as follows

I can use my ATAPI cd ( /dev/hdd) fine as a cdrom data reader as well as

playing audio cd's
thru the audio port of the cd.

I found this interesting in that it picked up a cd device on all the
luns for each of the cds, making it
think that I have 8 scsi cds for each of my IDE atapi cds..

At any rate, the only thing i am having a true problem with is when
recording audio tracks off the
cd, the audio has only NULLs in it..  also, checking error messages,
there are none logged in
/var/log/messages from the kernel, nor are there any error messages from

the readcdda pgm being used by xcdroast..

1 more detail I neglected to mention.. I am using xcdroast version .96d
that
includes the cdrecord 1.6 final
