Newish MMORPG development

We at Omnisentient (a small outfit of sparetime coders and artists) were
wondering if it was possible that we could get investors in a much smaller
scale.

We wanted to know if anyone would be willing to donate to us any small
amount of money (anything from 1 to 50) so that we might have better
chance of getting the game past the Alpha stage (e.g. onto the net). The
only thing we would promise any donators is that they would receive 1
month's free subscription per pound sent to us IF the game is released
(remember the game may flop as so many do).

We are hopeing that we can finish the game for beta testing in two years
time, but as we haven't got the money for a big enough net connection, we
cannot do alpha tests properly. We would like to open source the client for
the game, and only charge people for using our servers (so the overall price
is much lower than other games like EverQuest).

Our site will be upto date after we have finished moving our new ADSL server
around, but for now, I am afraid there is no site online.
If you are interested in being an investor, or a developer (artists,
designers and coders equally demanded) then e-mail me at

The game engine: SentienceEngine: Linux based multiple server system with
extensive dynamic mapping and creation system.
The games:
NetherWorldRealms: the expected D&D style RPG
    HexPhase(WT): *punk RPG
    DustStormLegions(WT): Fallout style RPG

Much more detail can be found at the OMNISENTIENT site at
http://www.veryComputer.com/
^^^this is a lie, it is *ed up at the moment, but at least you can see
our Logo (hahahahha)

If you live outside the UK, it is still possible for you to work on this
project, as we have a permanent local IRC, and for the main part, we shall
be working on Linux boxes anyway.

As an additional note, we shaln't be accepting donations until there has
been a reasonable number of enquiries.

The reasoning behind this refusal of money (what? you're refusing money?) is
simply that we do not wish to take a money from people without us knowing
that the reason they are giving money to us (so we can develop the game) can
be fulfilled.

without enough sponsors, we will continue to work primarily in our spare
time. If we find that a thousand people want to help out, then sure, we'll
dump our jobs and take it on full time. The actual threshold for us would be
if we could raise 15,000 upon the back of which, we could take time to
develop demo with which to impress a bank, and get a loan that would cover
us until game release.
