I want to program a small application by using Linux's X-Windows.
Unfortunately, I can't find a documentation, how to program the
X-Windows-Userinterfaces under C or C++. Knows somebody, where I can find
something to read about this?

There is a whole series of books about X-Windows published by O'Reilly & Assc.
The books about X-Windows programming are:

X-Windows-Series vol I : Xlib Programming Manual
... vol II: Xlib Reference Manual
... vol IV: XToolkit Programming Manual
... vol V: XToolkit Reference Manual
Programmers Supplement for Release 6

they're all written by Adrian Nye.
