Printer Driver for HP Deskjet 680C

I am a new user of Linux and learning quickly; however, I am frustrated
by my printer.  My /etc/printcap has a generic driver for lpr and I am
able to print a file.  Unfortunately, carriage returns are not done by
the printer, only new lines do it prints like
                                             this
                                                 and this.  I do not
want to have to add a carriage return to my files via sed or vi.  I have
tried to add a printer description to printcap but it does not work.

Is there a printer driver for DeskJets thst may not do graphics nor
color but will at least allow me to print files?  Any help would be much
appreciated.

Did
        you
                read
                        the
                                printer
                                        HOWTO
                                                ?????
                                                        It
                                                                tells
                                                                        you
how
        to
                fix
                        this.
                                I
                                        also
                                                reccomend
                                                                magicfilter

        all
                of
                        your
                                printing
                                                needs.
