Cross-Platform Wav C library?

Cross-Platform Wav C library?

Post by Antonio Jose del Carmen Pin » Thu, 16 Nov 1995 04:00:00

        Hello.

Belive it or not, I'm looking for a C library o functions
for reading .WAV files under UNIX. I've found some things under
Windows, but my program will need a machine bigger than a PC
to run.
The format of the sound file is not a must be, but I already
have players and documentation for the WAV, and so I'm trying
        to stick to it.
No matter If the library is designed for PC-use while it
hasn't any API dependencies, or so. The more standard, the better.

Thank you very much for your attention.

Get sox from  a sunsite mirror under apps/sound/players or converters I think.
It plays and converts wav, voc, au, snd, and probably more.

Do it the easy way!

Use SOX to convert the file to RAW (any format you like actually)
then do any processing, and use SOX to convert the RAW into a WAV.

SOX for Linux can aslo dirctly play WAV files.

1. Cross-platform Mutlithread Library

Hi, all:
Is there a cross-platform mutlithread C run-time library (freeware
or sharware)?

Frequently, I write multithread C/C++ programs run on both UNIX and
Windows. It will be convenient to exploit a cross-platform mutlithread
C run-time library. Programs only need to be re-compiled to run on
various operating systems.

Any help will be appreciated.
