Does any one know how to reformat a qic-40 tape on
a qic-80 drive to the qic-80 standard? Everything I
have tried returns "Read-only filesystem."

in linux?
it can't [currently] be done, to my knowledge.
when my course-load lightens up a bit [soon?] i plan to start work on a
ftape-format program that will let you do it ... but i haven't really done
much with that yet...
'course, if someone out htere has already written the program, i'd love to
hear it ... and get my hands on it [src, so i can learn too!]

Hello net-land,
I am looking for information on using QIC-40 or QIC-80 tape drives (the
ones that attach to the floppy controller) on SCO Unix, SCO Xenix, and
Interactive Unix.
I would like to know the pros and cons of using these type of drives.
Which ones you would recomend? Which ones do you not recomend?
