This is exactly the same mistake the people at Microsoft made with
Windows....

Could this BE???  Monkey see, monkey do?  In reverse?  
After 20 years have gone by?

 They released X WAY too early IMHO. I bought an ibook 500 to play
around with last August and X is slow as hell with at 500Mhz and with
320m of RAM. I went back to using OS09 which I find far more
easier,faster and stable. But I'll be getting my Suse 8 Pro Monday and a
new Dell 2200 about a week later to install it on. I can't freaking
wait!

FYI, the current issue of Linux Journal has a few articles on Linux on
the Mac, including one about LinuxPPC on the PowerBook.

The cover has that other distribution, running Netscape... which
LinuxPPC develops. <grin>
