It has been discussed here many times before, but open source does not have to
mean free.  There is nothing wrong with a distro that charges for the
software.

Why don't you go to www.microsoft.com and download the XP iso and give it a
try.

It is. It is just not "free of charge".
But you are too stupid to understand the difference

Are you saying that one can copy a set of SuSE ISO files and distribute
them, as in slack, redhat, or debian?

Nope, not at all. I wanted to try them out. I have been using various
Linux versions since 1995/1996

Sure there is, they are not allowed too. They are allowed to charge a
fee for copying and distribution, but not the software itself. Look at
the GPL.

Because I have been a Linux user for about 8 years now and I have no use
for XP.

hopefully they've been shutdown... unfortunately, there are also websites
in countries like China with other commercial Linux and MS-Windows stuff
illegally available for download.

And I thought there was no "WaReZ" for Linux....Why do something illegal
when there are legal means out there? I guess human nature.....

You are quite wrong
There is *nothing* in the GPL which prohibits them to sell the distro for
1 million bucks per CD. Naturally they wouldn't sell any, but the could
try. Legally. They have to supply the source. Read the GPL and stop
spouting nonsense

Sure you can. You are just not allowed to sell them. You are free to give
them away, though. Read SuSEs statements about it
