IDC: Nothing can stop Linux...

Says it all

1. LILO v19 stops at Partiton check: hda: then nothing

I have installed LILO v19 to boot Linux v2.0.10. My /etc/lilo.conf file is
When I try to boot from the HDD, LILO starts, uncompresses the kernel, then
stops at:
Partition check:

Then nothing. I can always boot from floppy, but then only half of my RAM is
recognized. Here's my lilo.conf file:
# LILO configuration created by QuickInst 0.17  Fri Jul 26 18:40:39 MET DST
boot = /dev/hda
delay = 10      # optional, for systems that boot very quickly
vga = normal    # force sane state
ramdisk = 0     # paranoia setting
root = current  # use "current" root
append ="mem=131072"
image = /zImage
  label = linux
other = /dev/hda1
  table = /dev/hda
  label = msdos

Can anyone help at all?
