Microsoft settles browser suit with AOL
The $750 million deal also places Microsoft technology on AOLs online
service
Jon Bonn  May 29 2003

In a sweeping settlement, Microsoft will pay AOL Time Warner $750
million to end a private antitrust lawsuit over Web browser technology.
The agreement also will place Microsoft digital media technology on
AOLs online service and clears the path for the two companies to
explore technology sharing.

Sorry for the repeat. I haven't read SlashDot recently. I was doing
other things. Maybe other people never read the article either. Now they
know.

If I'm quoting a web article then I put the site name at the end of the
subject line MSNBC.com. That way the peeps can not read it if they choose.

What do you think of the deal. Does it have anything to do with the
recent Microsoft, SCO association. eg Is it a stratagy of Microsoft to
defuse the AOL situation so as they can focus more on the SCO Linux
thing. What do you think ?

I think you're right.  To use an appropriate analogy, Microsoft is like WWII
Germany, trying to hold a western line while fighting a land war in eastern
Eurasia.  Yes, I did just compare M$ to the Third Reich!  They probably are
feeling a little stretched, so shoring up one of their fronts probably makes
things a little easier on them.  I just hope AOL isn't like the Vichy
French!

Yes, but you also rewrite the subject line, inferring that that was what
the news-site you're referring to originally titled their article.

Very dishonest of you.

Not so, I 'infer' no such thing.

Notice the subject line is not surrounded by quotes.

Notice also it is the root name of the web site provided and not a URL
to the quoted article.

Notice also that the full URL to the quoted article is included in the
body of the post.

Some of my best work are the subject lines. Don't delude yourself that
I'm going to change my posting style just to suit you.

ps: trollBOY correct this one

Yes you do. You're quoting another article (that's all your post really
is). Ergo, the subject line is important, and is assumed to refer to the
quoted material.

Sure. Go ahead. Be dishonest.
