I knew he was planning to change his nick, but I havn't seen any of his
posts since around then.

Even the COLA FAQ posts have stopped.  I wonder what's up?

I'm here, barely.  Several things have conspired to keep me away.  First,
work and home have both gotten a little more intense, and that hour or so a
day I used to spend here disappeared.

Second, my ISP went under, DirecTV, and it looks like I left leafnode trying
to post to their news server.  If you get this message, I fixed it. :)  

Also, I think that is why the FAQ disappeared.  

As for Linux Advocacy, I found myself in a fascinating conversation the
other day on the train.  When a complete stranger starts asking questions
like, "I'm in TV, what can it do for me?" it is nice to say, "Hey, I'm no
expert on every industry, but I'm watching it roll through Hollywood, Wall
Street, and so forth, you just wait."

Am now looking for a laptop that comes sans Microsoft Tax.

I have no trouble finding such a laptop, and guess what? It costs quite
a bit to have Windows on it. It's 150$ for XP Home and 230$ for XP Pro.
This is for a 1500$ laptop, BTW.
