AltaVista's software

Post by Andrzej K. Bran » Fri, 06 Dec 1996 04:00:00

Hi everyone.

Recently when visiting Alta Vista I clicked on the "private extensions"
icon. They advertise there a programm that allows searching one's disc
contents using the same technology that's used throughout the Alta Vista
search engine. As usuall - the are only two version - for Windows 95 and NT.
(see http://altavista.software.digital.com/blimp.htm).

Maybe we could convice them to make a version for Linux? I already e-mailed

have a few minutes to spare.

Maybe we could do the same with other software wendors... ;-)

That's odd.  Altavista runs on Digital UNIX, yet DEC does not make this
available for any unices?  What is the story?
