HP Laserjet 3100 All-in-one

Hello everyone,

Maybe this isn't the exact newsgroup to ask the question, but I expect the
respons here to be better than somewhere else.

I have a HP Lasejet 3100 All-in-one. Nice piece of equipment, but only works
under windows. Is there anybody who knows how to print to it from linux
(maybe there is a driver for linux? guess not. Or over a network to a
windows host.)

Thanx,

In my opinion the 'doze drivers are a pile of crap.  We have had no end
of trouble here.  Then again, we're using it with NT4; maybe it works
fine under 'doze98.

I don't know whether the 3100 (or its 'doze drivers) can do PCL; it
*is* after all from HP.  (I haven't tried it; we have a couple much
nicer printers around.)  If so, use smbclient from samba.  There's a
sample shell script that comes with samba that you can customize and
hook into your /etc/printcap file.
