I try to compile linux 0.01(download from www.kernel.org).
But it failed . May it needs old compilers???
I use redhat 6.22 and gcc 2.91 .

I think it need old compiler , assembler and linker.
For example ,it use gas and now I only have as which does not support
"-c" option. And there are many other problems. Most of them happen
because of compatibility .
Has anyone modified it so that it can be compiled successfully by
compiler and linker now days ???
