Very Computer

I just recompiled my kernel to eliminate devices I don't use.  When booting I
get the following error:

AHA1542_out Failed(2) Sending DID_RESET FOR TARGET 0

This message loops repeatedly.  If anyone knows the answer or can point me to
some obscure file somewhere that has the answer I would appreciate it.
