Problem in serial communication

Post by Francesco » Tue, 14 Oct 1997 04:00:00

I'm working on a serial communication system with a special device that
sends packets of about 8-10 bytes at 19200 Baud. but something it is
wrong, it seems that my linux machine syncronizes allways on the first
byte and then loose the sync missing bytes...
I tried working with a single read and multiple read... any idea?

I can send you the CUCCA's kermit source, I think you can get
a good base for your code.

/Claudio.

1. How to set up serial port when programming serial communication

I am in the project that uses serial communication between SUN(solaris 2.4)
and Windows 95.
I use the sample program in the Stevens' Advanced Programming
in the UNIX Environment.
How to set up a serial port in this situation?

Thanks in advance.
