with -sf 44100 (8bit 44100Hz), but not sbf (16bit) my messages file shows:

Which it isn't, but I'm still having trouble. If I can remember correctly,
1.3.54 or 1.3.55 worked correctly, if that is any help.
BTW: I recompiled the kernel for Pentium (pgcc) and it's running extremely
well!
