by I'm wondering if anybody from the Linux community can provide some info
on this --here's the situation:
We have a client that is using a Linux firewall that is doing
masquerading and transparent proxying.
They would like to be able to access Quicktime streaming media through
this setup, but currently I cannot
find an ip_masq module to handle RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol) and
RTP (Real Time Protocol).
Is there a masquerading module available for these protocols?
Apple released there own proxy for RTSP/RTP that is supposed to run on
Linux (it compiled no problem
on the firewall machine running Red Hat 5.2 with kernel 2.2.6) but it
constantly seg faults without ever
relaying data to the internal client machines. I found another proxying
script written in python that actually
works, but it is terribly resource hungry and bogs down the small P166
32 MB RAM firewall machine.
Does anyone know if there is an ip_masq module, or something just as
efficient that is being developed, or that is already available? I've
been combing through DejaNews for days, but there doesn't seem to be a
good Linux solution to this yet. Does anyone have more info on this?
