Hi:
I just wonder if anybody noticed that when I upgrade pppd to the
latest release from what Slackware 3.0 had I have to monkey the source
code to make it work. (I have to upgrade pppd to run kernel 2.0.)
The reason is that most of the -other modem- sofware I have uses uucp
locking mechanism (bad but that's the way they are) and new pppd puts
its lock to "/var/lock" while others silently agree on having the lock
in "/var/lock/uucp" . I know this is not a problem of pppd - I
just wanted to bring this issue up. Maybe I am the only one who gets
sofware from all over the place - but in this case why do they agree....
Thanks
