Where can I find the kernel message by printk?!

Where can I find the kernel message by printk?!

I am a novice of kernel hacking. Could anyone kindly answer my question?

1. How can I debug my modified kernel?
2. Where are the messages printed by printk()?
3. Do I need to #undef or #def something to let the debug messages shown
when compiling the kernel?
4. Can I use de*?
5. Any suggestion/warning when I debug the kernel?

Thanks for attention.
