Help!! Please... RedHat 7.0 to 7.2

Post by Jack Dawso » Fri, 07 Dec 2001 04:55:40

I upgraded my linux from RedHat 7.0 to 7.2. However, I cannot get the GUI
peice working...

When I type in startx or Xconfigurator , I get this error message

Fat server error: No screens found.

Please help as my development work has come to a standstill, which was
however going at a regular pace while in RedHat 7.0

Thanks
Jack..

Check your /etc/X11/XF86Config file. The X server isn't starting
because thats wrong.

XFree86 -configure might help, it does some probing and write a
sample config file to /root, but depending on your setup it may not
be complete.  eg what resolution, whether your monitor supports DCC
etc.
