1. how to apply Alan Cox kernel source patches?

pls advice if possible,
and correct me if i'm wrong.
thanks in advance.

i understand that to apply SOURCE updates
to the standard linux kernels,
one has to apply them sequentially,
ie to update from 2.4.1 to 2.4.12,
one has to apply the 2.4.2, then 2.4.3,
then ... then 2.4.12.

but if i want to apply Alan Cox patches for kernel 2.4.10,
do i have to apply 2.4.10-ac1, then 2.4.10-ac2, ...
or can i immediately apply 2.4.10-ac12?

pls note that i'm refering to patching the source,
for the purpose of compilation.

i know that if i'm just installing the kernel binary,
it doesn't have to be sequential

thanks again.
