Plans for Posix sem_init() for pshared = 1 ?

Post by Marc D Bumbl » Sun, 09 Mar 2003 21:30:09

Is anyone working on developing the Posix semaphores for Linux?  Was a
decision  or consensus developed  concerning the  Posix implementation
for use with multiple processes?  Can someone provide a pointer to the
latest, most relevant discussion on this subject?

Thanks,

Marc

1. POSIX semaphores ( a.k.a. sem_init(), sem_wait(), sem_post() ) on LINUX

Hello

Are the posix implementation of semaphores ( known as POSIX semaphores
) recursive on LINUX ?

In other words, if one thread calls sem_wait(); and then calls it
again, would it hang on itself ?

I am seeing such a symptom on my Red Hat LINUX 7.3/2.4.18-4smp.

Is there any way to make these recursive on LINUX ?

Thanks
