Under Redhat 7.3, my NIC (link below) is recognized as a
RTL-8139/8139C and works fine, but under the latest Gentoo CD (1.2)
throws this error:
# insmod 8139too
Using /lib/modules/2.4.19-gentoo-r7/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o
8139too Fast Ethernet driver 0.9.24
/lib/modules/2.4.19-gentoo-r7/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o:
init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters,
including invalid IO or IRQ parameters

Can anyone suggest what has changed between Redhat 7.3 (2.4.18-3) and
gentoo 1.2 (2.14.19-gentoo-r7) that might be causing this problem?
