Generic Strongarm DB programs?

Post by John » Sun, 30 Sep 2001 08:02:41

Hello all,

I love my Ipaq DB program by HanDbase and I am looking for one similar to it
to run on my AtWork Computers "Ranger" format. I was told by support staff
there that in order to run on a Ranger it would have to  work on Windows CE
X.X and above. The Ranger runs MS Windows CE Version 3.0 (Build 126) OS Rev
2.3.1
CPU Type SA-1110.

If anyone can be of any help...it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

John Troelstrup

John,

I am not familar with the "Ranger" but given the CE Version Number and the
CPU information you have below, I think you should be able to install
HanDBase on it. Those specs you cite are the same as the iPAQ's.

I don't think so, Frank. I've never played with a Ranger myself, but I think
it is based on the Handheld PC Pro Windows 3.0 release.

John: DDH Software has not made HanDBase available for the Handheld PC
platform.

Have you looked at the specs on SQL CE? I'm not sure myself, but it might
work... however then you have to program the db in VB or something - it's
not like HanDbase
