Different keyboard?

Different keyboard?

Post by Michael Smit » Mon, 14 Apr 2003 00:19:43

This may be a stupid question, but it is a little oddity that i
haven't devoted any time into figuring out.  thought someone else
might already know.

I got a Toshiba e335 2 weeks ago.  i have been using the keyboard.  it
is very annoying to have to change to the number keyboard to type a
couple of digits then change back.

all of a sudden the numbers appear above the letters like on a regular
keypad.  so now i don't have to switch back and forth..... also there
is now a cap lock key.  there wasn't before.

i was just wondering what i did different that, now i have these
things when i didn't for the first week and a half.

thanks,

Mike

You may have had the <CAP> key toggled.

you changed keys to small under "start, settings, input, small keys"

it gives you more keys on screen but a smaller target to hit with your
stylus

Well, go and chek it out... if you go to Options... the top most selction on
the SIP pop up window... right above Keyboard, Block Recognizer...etc, you
will see several options.

My suggestion is to use both, Large Keys and Use Gestures.

This gives you the maximum size for the keys and put the numbers column up
above the qwerty pad.

Selecting large keys alone will only give you larger keys, but still key the
numeric keys hidden to be toggled at the upper left hand corner.

Thanks guys.  that must have been what i did.

I played with the settings and i think i am going to settle for the
small keyboard with no gestures.

thanks again.
