#$%^(* Playlists!

#$%^(* Playlists!

Is there ANY way to keep WMP for the PPC from creating
a huge, disorganized mess by concatenating the name of EVERY clip
or other prexisting playlist you listen to into the one huge
stinking pile of poo that appears under "Select>>Organize Playlists/
Local Content/etc."?

It is annoying and maddening in the EXTREME to start a playlist created
and transferred with the clips, listen to the media, and then have WMP
move on to the last playlist or clip you played before this one
AUTOMATICALLY
because it "remembers" it and chained it to the one I just played.  I should
NOT
need to go delete the old one first.

I create content on my desktop, create the playlist there, move it
all to a SD card, and want to play it in my PPC from the SD card by tapping
the .ASX I already created.

Nothing more than this.

I will NEVER use WMP on the desktop to xfer and compress on the fly
to my PPC.

I will NEVER create playlists on the PPC itself from clips there.

I want WMP/PPC to play the media in the playlist I tap on,
and then get amnesia and forget completely about it when it's done.

Please?

Playlists are a huge weakness in the current player, as you've discovered.
There's no known fix or solution, other than turning to third party players
(of which there are some great ones).

1. Windows Media Player & MP3 Playlists

On my playlists, I have one entry when clicked on gives me
an error message that the files are no longer there. I
have searched throughout the directories looking for the
referenced playlist and cannot locate it. When I click on
the playlist, it immediately gives the error message,
consequently, I never have the opportunity to delete it.
Any thoughts? Might I have to get into the Registry?
