In working on updating my "Managing Internet Mail, Setting Up and Trouble
Shooting sendmail and DNS" seminar for sendmail 8.8, I have been experimenting
with the new ETRN command to flush a remote queue for this host.
Sendmail 8.8 supports the ETRN command, but gives you no way to execute it
on a SMTP client host. To solve this problem I have added a -T flag to Eric
command. From the changes I made in the vrfy man page:
vrfy(1) ETRN MODE
If the -T option is specified, the program enters a special ETRN mode.
The required parameter is an SMTP server host which the ETRN request
will be sent to. If the SMTP server supports the ETRN request defined
in RFC 1985, then the ETRN command will be sent with the parameter of
the hostname of the local host.
If an optional domain parameter is supplied, then this domain name
will be sent as the parameter to the ETRN command.
Currently sendmail 8.8 supports the ETRN command

This page also contains HTML versions of the sendmail 8.8 documentation.
Hope people find this useful
