lost+found dir./files question

lost+found dir./files question

Post by Paul Schall » Tue, 19 Sep 1995 04:00:00

I am trying to clean up a system running Solaris 2.4 and I see the
lost+found dir. is LARGE with many files.  I know what this area is for
but what I want to know is if I can clean this area out?

It would give me back some space that I could use.

So can I get rid of these files/dir under the lost+found dir.?

Thanks muc,
Paul

1. find without the "find: cannot read dir /usr/lost+found: Permission denied"

find / -name 'foo*.h' -print 2> /dev/null

|Hi all,
|
|Is there anyway to prevent find displaying the annoying
|
|find: cannot read dir /usr/lost+found: Permission denied
|
|message?
|
|For eg:
|
|find / -name 'foo*.h' -print
