Hi Mark,
usually you get a stale NFS file handle on the client, when the NFS
server unshares a path which the client has mounted.
By standard you have two possibilities:
1) unmount the file system on the client, or
2) share it on the server again
If you can't unmount the client side, edit the file /etc/mnttab on the
client or if you can't unshare the server side - this may happen for
example, when you share a CDROM and eject it without unsharing it first
- edit the file /etc/dfs/sharetab on the server. But ATTENTION: Both
files are supposed to be changed by the kernel, so be aware what you are
deleting, otherwise you might to have to power off your system!
