Do you mean a TCP or a UDP port on an internet-connected machine?  Or do
you mean port in the Mach sense?

Try searching for sniffit (for where I got it from). It is supposed to
let you specify particular ports and IP addrs. to monitor

Its actually TCP port 507.  The machine is an Alphastation 200 4/233
running Digital Unix V4.0c.

Well, to monitor the amount of traffic going through the port, as well as
the destinations, you can use netstat.  To monitor the content of what
goes through, you can use tcpdump.  What are you trying to accomplish?

I believe you want tcpdump. You can get it at any of the sunsites or
security mirrors. tcpdump port 507 and ( src host foo or dst host foo)
would get you what you want on host foo.
