Parallel to Parallel file transfers?

Parallel to Parallel file transfers?

Post by Ken Hargreav » Thu, 11 Mar 1993 02:25:35

Does anyone known of a Unix/Xenix program that will do
file transfers, like laplink, between two machines over the parallel ports?

Thanks.

1. non-PLIP parallel file transfer?

Have any of you heard of a Linux utility for file transfer over a parallel
port that does not use PLIP?  This will be a one-time transfer of the contents
of my laptop disk while upgrading the drive, and it seems like there ought to
be a simpler solution than recompiling the kernel for PLIP on both machines
and setting up networking.  I didn't see anything promising on sunsite.
