Request for Proposal and Budgeting Quote

                            6/11/93

Company: PFA (Panasonic Factory Automation Co.)
Division of Matsushita Electric Corporation of America
         9377 W. Grand Ave.
         Franklink Park, IL 60131
         (708) 288-4400 (Main)
         (708) 288-4430 (Fax)

Purpose: PFA like to put their engineering manual into their LAN, then make
CD-ROM for their service engineers to use it on site.

Environment:

LAN ---- Run Novell Netware 3.11, Unix (SunOS4.1.2 and OW3) on Ethernet,
                 150 nodes

Volume -- Currently, 400,000 pages in Library,
Optical storage should hold double of above amount.

Scan and OCR -- 50,000 pages per year in house.
I think we will outsource most scan and OCR jobs later,
                  but no gurarantee.

        Users -- about 10 - 15 con-current users on LAN
about 30 -40 service engineering use stand-alone notebook.

        CD-ROM -- should be multi-sessions
CD-ROM burner on site, so CD-ROM distribution kits can be
                  manufactured in house.

PFA like all service engineers carrying following items to help them find
out anything technical information they want:
386 or 486 Notebook Computer (already equipped).
       optical drive
distributed optical media from central office
       Image searching software
