I am planning to upgrade my O2 (6.3) to 6.5, since my boss was not able to
upgrade to 6.5 successfully, I decided to backup my current system first.
Since this is my first time to backup a whole system (usually I backup some
log files only), can anyone tell me what system files I need to backup and
whatelse I need to be careful with?

Hi,
I've just acquired an SGI Indigo machine and I'm quite a novice when it
comes to unix. I was just wondering whether it would be worthwhile to
upgrade Irix from 5.3 to 6.5; the processors are R4000 and 128MB RAM so it
can handle Irix 6.5. I will basically be treating it as an exercise to
understand more about the unix operating system. I will be using the
machine to run Fluent (a computational fluid dynamics package) simulations.
Any comments or opinions will be extremely helpful.
