I am working on HPUX 1.6 11.22 released for Itanium. When I set

export DISPLAY=IP:0.0 (where IP is the IP address). when i give xterm it works.

the same thing instead of IP if give hostname i get an error

Can't open display: hostname:0.0

Couldn't find per display information.

I've DNS. And i can resolve the hostname to its IP. Nslookup works fine

Ping hostname also works fine.

Any ideas.

Thanks

Yeah, but can you resolve the IP to a hostname, i.e. nslookup IP.in-addr.arpa?

1. EXPORT of SOLARIS display to LINUX not working

I'm having problems displaying MentorGraphics' "AccuSim II"  circuit
simulator product for Solaris on a Linux box.
I can get everything else to display to the Linux box, ie. xcalc,
xspread, xv, etc, but Solaris reports some type of "font error" when it
tries to display Accusim on the Linux box (RH 5.2, Xfree86).  Is this an
X protocol problem, meaning that I need some kind of MentorGraphics
proprietary X extension to make this work or what? Or is there some
other easy workaround?  I am wondering if it is possible to make the
Linux box access the Solaris machine as a font server, how would I make
this work?  Any clues would be appreciated.

Thanks.
