i have a problem with the configuration of an ip-address in at&t unix system
v rel.4
with ifconfig. the parameter netmask would not be accepted by the system.
the call for setting the ip parameter is:
ifconfig elc0 10.123.12.123 netmask 255.255.255.0

the address 10.123.12.123 is an class a net address, but i would that it is
an class c net.
isn't this possible in at&t unix system v rel.4 ?

1. Changing IP address on Solaris 9 with multiple virtual IP addresses

We are running Solaris 9 and have configured the one physical NIC with
2 IP addresses allowing us to run 2 web servers and keep both on port
80. Is changing the IP address assigned to each host as simple as
changing the entries in /etc/inet/hosts or do I need to start messing
