Does anyone know how to remove a filesystem on a partition on an HP9000 running
hp-ux 9.04?

Have you tried "sam"?  "umount" is also good.  If you have tried these and get
"Cannnot unmount, file system busy", this means one of two things:
Either a file on the file system is open -- for read, write, or execute -- or
else a user has a directory on the file system as his or her current working
directory.  Fix this -- take the machine down to single user mode if
necessary, and try again.

SAM and the umount command will not remove a filesystem from a disk, it will only
unmount it, the filesystem still remains on the disk.

I was trying to restore a database to the raw device and I found out that if I
umount the FS and restore the database, the FS will be overwritten.
