Hi,
We have a SUN E3500 server running Solaris 2.6 (105181-19).
We are running Veritas File System (vxfs) version 3.3.1 and
Veritas Volume Manager (vxvm) version 2.5.4.
We need to upgrade the OS to Solaris 8. Currently, the root
disk is mirrored under Sun DiskSuite.
Should we keep DiskSuite or encapsulate the root in Veritas
before the upgrade ?? What are the pros and cons down the road
for root-mirroring under DiskSuite or Veritas in Solaris 8??
What's the procedure for the root mirror switch-over to
Veritas from DiskSuite??
Can we keep our current version of vxfs/vxvm in Soaris 8 ??
Any particular things in Veritas we need to be aware of before
upgrading the OS to 8 ??
Thanks,
Bill
