I'm fairly new to the HP world; however, I'm familiar
with both SUN and IBM's versions of UNIX. On both SUN and IBM,
the systems will page parts of processes vice swapping the whole
thing out. I took a look at HP's vmstats here and was surprised
to see between 10 and 50 swapped out processes and plenty of free
memory. Does HP swap out idle processes automatically? If not,
is there a variable in the kernel configuration files which will
turn paging on?
Any help and/or pointers will be greatly appreciated.
