apache 1.3.22 start problem (core dump)

Post by Bengt M?nsso » Sat, 27 Oct 2001 05:56:17

Hi
I run  Linux 2.4.12 (Rh7.1) on a i586
Last night i tried to install Apache and when I start it i just dies.
When i start it with my normal script it just wont start (no traces in the
logs)
When i start with apachectl it makes a core dump.
Any hints?
Is this a bug or my own mistake?
Below is my build script, and the result of 'gdb httpd core'

/Bengt

also why are you passing loads of variables to apache why not stick with a
simple configure command

1. Problems starting Apache 1.3.22

Hey all!

Last night I was using Apache just fine, and everything worked... then I
shut down Apache (apachectl stop).  THEN, this morning, I started it up, and
it says, " apachectl start: httpd started "  And when I try to access a web
page... It's nonexistent.  I again try "apachectl start" and it replies
"httpd started"  Still nothing... I then do several "apachectl start" and
they ALL say "httpd started"  They SHOULD say, "httpd already running" or
something to that effect.  Anybody have this problem?  Please help ASAP!!!
