The messages are new - we tightened up error reporting in 1.0.3 and thus
some new messages appeared. Lost connections would usually be caused by
clients dropping the link. Even if you see a correlation between this and
speed the causal link could go in either direction  ;-)

Hmmmm ... some more detail in these "three instances in round-robin" and
perhaps some system stats on both a fresh start, and a long running
system (like memory usage etc.) might aid diagnosis.

1. Heavily loaded Apache

Hello,

we have some WWW servers here running under one Apache server.
One of them is quite heavily loaded, about 80 users all the
time (your wife better doesn't know, if you're one of them :-),
the others don't have very much traffic.

Of course the bottleneck is bandwidth and this bottleneck hits
all servers, not just the only one. Is there any chance to
reduce the heavy loaded servers traffic (for example by
limiting the number of users), so that the other servers
have a better chance to be reachable?
