Netscape on Unix and "Broken pipe"

Netscape on Unix and "Broken pipe"

Post by Gianluca Chiozz » Fri, 07 Mar 1997 04:00:00

I am using Netscape 3.01 Gold in a SunOS Unix system and since a couple
of monthes I am experiencing some problems.

There are a number of servers I am not able any more to connect.
A typical case is http://www.microsoft.com.

I always get, after a couple of minutes waiting, the following error:

Unable to connect to server
(TCS Error: Broken Pipe).

If I use Netcape under Windows 95 of Win 3.11, everything works, so I
suspect some configuration problem or some specific bug of the Unix
version.

Any idea?

1. FW: "PIPE BROKEN" & "RESOURCE TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE"

Hi All;

I have some problems with regards to printing in AIX:-

when user sent document for printing to the printer it will show the following
error and abort the printing program:-

ERR:P48.030 Illegal device specification (lp -ddopc_11) :statement 25: (Resource temporarily unavailable).
and sometimes this error also :-
ERR:I96.026 Pipe broken  : statement 14 :  (Broken pipe)
When this error happen, we've try to reset print server, reset printer, reset pc and even shutdown and reboot unix server but sometimes ok but problem will come back after a while.
FYI, the printer is connected to a print server.

Thank you for your help
